Every year, Summit School's Catwalk for Camp fundraiser brings the community together for an evening that is equal parts celebration and purpose. This year was no exception. Students took to the runway as models, and the result was exactly what this event has always been: a room full of pride, joy, and genuine connection.
The event raised over $30,000 for Summit School's Summer Camp, a milestone that will make a real difference for students this summer. Summit Camp offers neurodivergent students a rich and structured season of activities, from swimming and outdoor sports to themed weeks, dances, and outings around Montreal.
For many students, camp is a highlight of their year, and the funds raised through Catwalk for Camp help make that experience possible.
But the money raised, impressive as it is, is only part of the story. What makes Catwalk for Camp truly special is what it does for the students themselves. Walking the runway, dressed up and celebrated, watched and cheered by their families, teachers, and community, students get to experience something that every young person deserves: the feeling of being seen, admired, and applauded simply for being who they are.
The confidence and sense of pride that comes from that moment is not a small thing. For students who spend much of their lives working hard to navigate a world not always built with them in mind, an evening like this is a powerful reminder of how much they have to offer.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the staff and volunteers who brought the event together. And congratulations to every student who stepped into the spotlight. You were, without question, the stars of the show.
