Volunteer Appreciation

Updated: 2 days ago

At Summit School, we are fortunate to be surrounded by people who give their time, their energy, and their hearts to our students. Our Volunteer Appreciation Assembly was our chance to say thank you.

The assembly was a celebration of the remarkable individuals who show up for Summit again and again, often without being asked and never for recognition. Our students took the lead in thanking them, with musical performances, poems, and handmade gifts. It was a joyful, heartfelt afternoon, and the appreciation in the room was impossible to miss. For our students, the chance to express gratitude and to perform for the people who support them is its own kind of gift, building confidence and a sense of pride that stays with them.

Volunteers are woven into the fabric of everyday life at Summit. They lend a hand at events, support our programs, and strengthen our community in countless quiet ways. Their generosity allows us to do more for our students than we ever could alone, and the example they set, of showing up for others simply because it matters, is one we hope our students carry with them for life.

This year's assembly held special meaning, as we celebrated Parent Committee President Wendy Zee and the 13 years of extraordinary dedication and passion she has given to Summit School. Her hard work has been the backbone of countless initiatives, her leadership has inspired us all to strive for excellence, and her compassion has created a welcoming, supportive community that has truly nurtured our children's growth and well-being. As Wendy steps into this new chapter, we wish her nothing but the best, knowing that her legacy will continue to thrive in the community she helped build.

To Wendy, and to every volunteer who gives so generously of themselves, thank you. Summit is a stronger, warmer, and brighter place because of you.
